Collins Saint, Of Counsel
Collins Saint is a nationally recognized education and civil rights attorney, consultant, mediator, and trainer who works at the intersection of law, human behavior, and institutional culture. Collins has a particular passion for children and families navigating special education and civil rights matters involving access to education, disability discrimination, mental health, and protections for LGBTQ+ youth. Known for his strategic clarity and relational approach, he brings both litigation skill and deep emotional intelligence to high-stakes advocacy.

Collins is a veteran educator with a master’s degree in school counseling from the University of Alabama. His foundation in mental health shapes every aspect of his work. Whether litigating high-conflict disputes, mediating emotionally charged matters, or leading institutional trainings, he approaches conflict not as something to suppress, but as material to be transformed into resolution, understanding, and forward movement.

For eight years before working with Cedar Law, Collins served as a trusted advisor for school systems and higher education institutions in North Carolina, helping organizations navigate complex legal terrain while preserving trust and dignity. His counsel focused on compliance with civil rights laws—such as Title IX, Section 504, and the IDEA—non-biased and inclusive investigation practices, and equity-centered policy design. He is also a seasoned trial and appellate litigator who has secured several high profile published opinions in his clients’ favor. Collins is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law, where he began his education law career as an intern with both the Council for Children’s Rights and the general counsel’s office of a public school system.

Outside of his legal practice, Collins is a nationally sought-after speaker, author, consultant, and trainer on DEI issues, education law, communication competence, LGBTQ+ and disability civil rights, and organizational well-being. He regularly presents for organizations including the American Bar Association, LRP, CASE, the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association, educational instutions, community organizations, and state bar associations, where he is known for translating complex legal frameworks into practical, human-centered strategies.

Collins is currently admitted to practice law in all state and federal courts of North Carolina, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. His application for admission to the Washington and Oregon State Bar is in process.
