Elicia Johnson focuses her practice on employment disputes involving educators and professionals working in educational settings. She represents teachers, administrators, and other employees facing discrimination, retaliation, nonrenewal, workplace investigations, and other employment-related disputes.
Elicia also represents students and families in civil rights and tort cases arising in schools. In addition, she handles a select number of special education matters, particularly those involving dyslexia and evidence-based literacy instruction.
Many of Elicia’s cases involve individuals navigating difficult conflicts with school districts and other institutions. She works closely with clients to develop thoughtful strategies for resolving these disputes—whether through negotiation, administrative processes, or litigation—while protecting both their professional and personal interests.
Before joining Cedar Law in 2019, Elicia spent more than twenty years practicing as a corporate attorney focusing on workplace and employment matters. That experience gives her insight into how institutions approach workplace issues and informs her practical, strategic approach to representing individuals.
Elicia is particularly drawn to cases that sit at the intersection of education, employment, and civil liberties. She approaches each matter with a thoughtful, solutions-oriented perspective and a focus on helping clients navigate difficult situations while protecting their professional and personal futures.
Elicia received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her B.A. in Communication Studies from UCLA.
